Over the past years; Member, DCC Group leader and general enthusiast Colin Bennett, has built numerous demonstration boards to show off the various aspects of what Digital Command Control (DCC) can do. With control to accessories like Points, Signalling, Block Detection and Loco Programming; he has envisioned a working layout that demonstrates how all of these various assets link together and set out to build it with the help of the Wednesday DCC group.

The Layout is to be built in 1:148 N Scale using Peco Code 55 track and points accommodated inside a design of 1300mm by 800mm, this size being small enough to fit whole inside the “average hatchback” to be taken out to demonstrations. Due to feature Block Detection, "Hands Off" Timetable Running, Fully Automated Signalling and Points and Viewable Components

The layout top will be 20mm thick, dense insulation board topped with 3mm thick cork tiles. The backscene is removeable and the rear board behind will be used to mount the electronics to be viewed. It shall also have transparent "Lexan" under the points for viewing access of the various types of point motors installed.
