WELCOME TO OUR WEB SITE
Welcome to Bexhill Model Railway Club. BMRC is a small but well established model railway club formed in 1968.
The club has around 45 members several of whom are highly skilled and experienced in the many areas of expertise required to produce high quality models, there are those with less experience who wish to learn and the more experienced members are always ready to share their knowledge.in addition to the primary modelling activity, also arranges social events and trips which often involve wives and partners.
The club has its own clubrooms in Clifford Road, Bexhill town centre and meets regularly throughout the week.
If you are interested in model railways or wish to develop your skills then we would be delighted to hear from you, for more information including details of how to join, please send us an e-mail or give our Secretary a call, details at the top of the page.
The club has built and exhibited layouts more or less continuously throughout its existence and currently has
“Detford”, a '00' Finescale layout, “Ensbury”, an ‘N’ gauge layout, "Haynes lane", an '0' gauge layout and "Sewel", an '0' gauge 16.5mm layout.
The club is also working on a new layout which is currently at the baseboard construction stage. See the "LAYOUTS" page for details and photographs.
Layouts built by the club are often exhibited at Exhibitions throughout the south east and sometimes further afield, for details of other Exhibtions and if a Bexhill MRC layout is due to be featured, please see the "FUTURE EVENTS" page.
Most members have or are building their own layouts and members often provide support to others, particularly when member’s layouts are being exhibited. Members interests cover all the major scales from 2mm/ft (“N” gauge) to 7mm/ft (“0” gauge) including P4 (true scale in 4mm/ft).
The club hosts an annual Exhibition on the second Saturday in August, to show the very best of the hobby including it's own models.
See the "ANNUAL EXHIBITION" page for details.
The Club is in need of more ideal premises to operate in as we have largely outgrown our existing premises in Clifford road. If anyone has information on an alternative site which may suit our needs then we would be glad to hear from you.
